What is ATFM?
Against The Flow Ministries (ATFM) is a ministry in California that is dedicated to
the evangelism and discipleship of young people. Through the process of the Holy Spirit leading people
to Jesus Christ, we have seen entire families come to Christ and restoration take place.
We partner with other ministries to meet the needs of the community as a whole and
welcome all who are truly seeking God and His Son Jesus Christ the Messiah. (See links)
Tony & Liz teach the Word, with the Bible as their textbook using the expository method,
which is verse-by-verse, book-by-book. Although, topical Bible Studies are important, they feel teaching verse
by verse gives the whole counsel of God.
We have regular prayer time at each Bible Study. Our goal is to have neighborhood outreaches
with music, food and showing evangelistic movies.
We hope you find this site inspiring as well as informative, as we seek to educate the Body
of Christ about life and current issues. We believe the Bible is Gods instruction manual for life and that JESUS
is the only way to the FATHER, and by accepting Jesus sacrifice and shed blood to cover our sins, we can now have
fellowship with God the Father (John 14:6).
Tony & Liz have lived in Riverside since 1990 and were called into ministry in 1992. In that time they have been involved with various areas of ministry with a special calling to young people and have been actively involved with youth ministry since 1997.
With the bombarding of ungodly influences upon our youth, they believe that God is raising the standard for all people to live a godly and righteous life for HIS namesake. They proactively teach the Bible and believe that Jesus will return and our time is short.
They frequently involve "Against the Flow" youth group to actively participate in witnessing at school and in their community to reach the lost for Jesus our Messiah. Our motto is "Sharing the Love of Christ one person at a time." This involves building relationships with others as Jesus did.
Over the years, Tony & Liz have ministered to local junior high, senior high and Cal State San Bernardino students through campus Christian clubs. They have also ministered through Sunday school classes, Bible studies, as camp counselors, and at local outreaches throughout Riverside and at Teen Challenge Riverside. In 2001, Liz traveled to New York City with a Christian Group to minister to those affected by the 9/11 disaster.
We invite you to be a part of what God is doing in Riverside, and we ask you to pray for revival amongst young people.
